Your data is important to us
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you when you contact Strathard News (by completing our contact us form, or making a donation).
We use the information that you have given us in order to either resolve a query that you have contacted us about or process a donation.
As we hold data, we have certain obligations that we have to meet to comply with UK data regulation. The regulations are designed to keep your data safe.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR), the classification for the type of data we hold is ‘personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics’. This is the classification that covers names and contact details. For us to hold this data we need to explicitly state the the lawful basis for why.
The information we hold is gathered when a contact form is submitted. This means that the lawful reason we for have the data is ‘your consent’. If we did not hold the information we would not be able to respond to your queries. If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, wish to remove your consent or want to make a complaint to us by completing our contact us form.
The information provided to us can only be accessed by the Strathard News team, and is deleted once the query has been resolved.
If you are making a donation, your donation is processed our payment provider Stripe. The payment form securely passes the information you provide to Stripe who processes the donation. The Strathard News Team do not have access to your payment details at any time during the process.
If you are unhappy with how we have used your data, the UK Information Commissions Office (ICO) can provide further information, or can investigate complaints.
